I did autopsies for nearly thirty years. Naturally, this informs my work. But I look beyond the usual body-as-machine analogies. My art turns it around to see how machines are human. My view of technology is “Machines have feelings too.”

I have applied medical terms to machine parts. I draw my inspirations from anatomy, pathology, physiology and all the rest. I add my own spirituality to impart a depth of universal purpose.

My sense of humor gives me a perverse need to quantify the human experience. I will decode a sensual pleasure just to make it fit a graph. I lampoon what I believe in. My works are part tongue in cheek, part serious scholarship.
